Bio
Reed Miller is an active performer and jazz guitarist in upstate South Carolina. A student of local Greenville guitar legend Steve Watson, Reed has performed across the southeast in jazz and funk bands as well as the prestigious 6 O’clock Lab Band. His passion for all styles of jazz guitar, from big swing to modern straight-ahead, has led him on a state- of-the-art musical journey. As a consummate performer he blends the cool style of classic jazz with a modern approach for a cutting edge sound. Today he is his honing his craft at Furman University and finishing a degree in Jazz Performance under the tutelage of composer and Matt Olson.
The Reed Miller Project represents his innovative take on jazz standards and original music. Drawing on the work of John Coltrane, Lage Lund, Thelonious Monk, and Aaron Parks, Reed and his band hope to bring the best of old-school swing and modern sensibilities to the bandstand.
