St. Maurice is a four-piece rock band based out of Spartanburg, SC. Since its formation in 2011, the band has become increasingly popular on the local scene by offering a wide variety of styles blended together to form a sound that has been called “ refreshingly inventive”. St. Maurice’s version of modern progressive rock is heavily influenced by blues, funk, R&B, reggae and hip–hop, but expands to something more wildly experimental. Their frequent improvised jams are often reminiscent of the Jam Bands of earlier eras,. This allows them to appeal to a variety of age groups.
The band, featuring two lead singers and an exceptional rhythm section, delivers high energy performances offset by mellow grooves and ethereal vibes.
St. Maurice has recently appeared on two television shows , “Carolina Now’” and “Your Carolina” They have appeared at festivals, nightclubs and bars in the region, and are currently preparing to release an EP.
